FAQ's
Q: Do I stay there with my pet, or drop them off?
A: If you schedule a Priority appointment, this takes less time and you are welcome to stay with them if you would like to, otherwise we ask for about a four hour time window and give you a call whenever they are ready.
Q: What can I do to prepare for my pets appointment?
A: Make sure your pet has had their breakfast and gone potty beforehand. Feel free to bring any carriers, toys, blankets, or treats for you pet so they can feel more at-home with us.
Q: Is my dog too young to be groomed?
A: The sooner you bring your puppy in to be groomed, the sooner they'll get used to the process and show good behavior for future appointments. We have a puppy package specifically for pups five months and under (more info under "Services and Pricing"). I recommend starting at 3 months
Q: Do you give drugs to the dogs before grooming?
A: We do not dispense any drugs to our customers or their pups. If you think tranquilizers would be beneficial to your pet during grooming, you will have to go to your vet to get them prescribed. We do have some natural calming aids that you can purchase in our shop front.
Q: Should I bring my pet's shot records?
A: We ask if they are up to date, but do not require the records. The city does require us to have the expiration date of their rabies vaccination.
Q: Do you keep the pets in the kennels all day?
A: Unless you schedule a Priority appointment, your furry friend will be lounging in a kennel periodically throughout their visit. We do take them out to go potty and for a short walk if they show discomfort, or if they have been here a while, we also give them water.
Q: Do you muzzle the dogs?
A: If a dog is showing aggression we do our best to calm them down and work with them, but if they are trying to bite us multiple times and we are unable to calm them, sometimes we do have to use a muzzle to protect us and the dog from injuries.
Q: How often should I bring my pet in?
A: We recommend every 4-6 weeks. If your pet doesn't need a haircut within this time, it is still a good idea to bring them in for a Bath or Bath and Tidy to help prevent matting or other health concerns that could be helped or prevented with a visit.
Q: Do the dogs interact with each other?
A: Our kennels are separated by solid walls, so each individual dog has their own little room-like area. For their safety, during their appointment they are not socialized with the other pets, the most interaction they get is a glance or maybe a bark across the room.
